R2K won't run for the Saints' Board in 2007

2 March 2007

With nominations closing today for three vacancies on the Board of the St.George Leagues Club, R2K would like to announce that it has not put forward any candidates for the Board of Directors.

The R2K committee is satisfied at this stage with the recent performance of the incumbent Directors and feel that the Club has responded well to many of the key issues the R2K candidates raised in the 2006 election.

There has been an overhaul of entertainment with the Grange performing well as a smaller scale auditorium, while the Steelers’ loan has been significantly reduced over the past 12 months.

The standard of sports screenings has been enhanced, while the home game allocation and the continued upgrade of OKI Jubilee Stadium has been managed suitably in recent times.

The latest edition of the St.George Leagues Journal updates members on the construction of the Club’s new outdoor terrace, the plans for a new Chinese restaurant and the upcoming induction of the late Billy Wilson and the late Robert Stone into the Jubilee Stadium Legends’ Walk.
