Kogarah Council set to approve further enhancement to Jubilee facilities
Kogarah Council is set to modify a previously approved Development Application in relation to OKI Jubilee Stadium.
On 12 December 2005, Kogarah Council approved an application to relocate
the existing operations centre to the existing scoreboard, the construction
of a new kiosk and garage and the demolition of a toilet block.
However, on Monday night (10 April 2006) Council is expected to approve
a modification to allow the incorporation of additional toilets and a
prefabricated training and educational building.
The works, which are along the English Street frontage of the ground,
will mean an increase of the concrete slab area over the garage and storerooms,
the construction of new male and female toilets and the installation of
a prefabricated building with approximately 84 square metres of floor
space.
The modifications will be beneficial to Jubilee Oval, as they will provide
the Dragons' spiritual home with better overall facilities. Importantly,
an area will be provided for training and educational purposes for schools
and the community, which is a key condition of the Federal Government
Grant. In addition, the modification will provide corporate facilities
for events and a better streetscape at the north-eastern end.
No objections were received in relation to the modified Development Application.
