Vote R2K in 2008!
R2K is pleased to announce that it will run three candidates in the 2008 election for the St.George Leagues Club Board of Directors.
Following an exceedingly poor season in 2007 and the Dragons' shock announcement that they will quit Kogarah in 2008, R2K believes that it is in the best interests of the Club for three R2K candidates to fill three vacancies on the St.George Board.
While the St.George Leagues Club are yet to call for nominations for the Board and an election date hasn't been announced, R2K President Lachlan McLean feels that it's not premature to announce to Dragons' supporters that they have an opportunity to make a difference at the ballot box in March next year.
"We want to provide St.George members an alternative to the incumbents and we are passionate about utilising the democratic processes of the Club to return St.George to its rightful glory,” McLean said.
R2K is keen to ensure that the St.George Leagues Club continues to guarantee that the Dragons can be successful in the long-term by providing an appropriate level of funding.
R2K will confirm its candidates at a policy launch in the near future.
R2K was formed in June 2000 in order to put the issue of a St. George District homeground back on the Club’s agenda.
R2K successfully lobbied for the Dragons to return to Kogarah in 2003 and has since supported the redevelopment of the Dragons’ spiritual home.
