KOGARAH JUBILEE OVAL – AN INVESTMENT IN THE FUTURE
I am very pleased to announce that a re-elected Coalition Government will contribute $8 million over the next three years towards an upgrade of Kogarah Oval.
The local community, local councils, the St George Leagues Club and the state government have already contributed $2 million to provide a basic improvement in the amenities at Kogarah Oval.
The Coalition’s contribution, if re-elected, will ensure that Kogarah Oval can serve the local community well into the future.
Kogarah Oval is a multi-use facility. Rugby union and soccer, including Sydney Olympic, use the ground and the facility has been used for numerous community activities, including school athletics carnivals, police rugby league, schoolboy internationals and charity events, including the Cancer Council’s Walk of Hope.
The contribution from a re-elected Coalition Government would allow a master plan for the precinct to be prepared, and will fund an upgrade of training facilities, ground lighting and electrical supply, allow for ground surface improvements, including to drainage, the installation of about 2,200 new seats and provide northern turnstiles and toilets incorporating disabled access.
This upgrade will allow more community events to take place at Kogarah Oval and provide a focal point for this important and growing multicultural region.
The Coalition will continue to work with local communities to invest in our future and build a stronger Australia.
